Hampshire played
against Berkshire CBA in the first round
of the National County Top Fours competitions at Desborough BC on Sunday 8
June 2008.
The 2 rinks
performed well but disappointingly lost out to a strong 8 from Berkshire.
At 5 ends both
rinks were level at 4-4 but dropped shots over the next 5 ends to reach the
half way point some 11 shots down overall. In the midst of the noise as the
Maidenhead Carnival floats passed the green, we fell further behind and
with 5 ends remaining we were 16 shots adrift.
However a
spirited fightback started with both rinks picking up 5 shot ends but
eventually lost the match by 8 shots.
